Downloads Screen

Downloads → All Downloads lists your plugins and themes. This page covers its columns, filters and tags, and where to change the Download URLs.

Columns

  • Version — the version client sites are offered.
  • Downloads — how many times the package was served (button clicks and client updates). Click the column title to sort: the first click shows the most downloaded first.
  • Author, Download Tags and Date.

Filters

Above the list, next to the date filter:

  • Download tag — shown once at least one Download Tag exists.
  • Type — All types, Plugin or Theme.
  • Licensing — All licensing, Licensed or Not licensed.
  • Source — All sources, GitHub (linked to a GitHub repository) or File (Media Library file, upload or URL).

Choose the values and click Filter.

Download Tags

Downloads have their own tags, separate from your blog's tags. Manage them under Downloads → Tags, and add them to a Download in the editor's settings sidebar.

Each tag has a public archive page at /download-tag/<tag-slug>/.

Sites upgraded from Hoster 1.3 or older had blog tags on their Downloads. The upgrade copies them to Download Tags once, see Migrating to 1.4.0.

Change the URL bases

Downloads live at /downloads/<slug>/, with the archive at /downloads/. To change these, go to Settings → Permalinks and use the Optional section:

  • Downloads base — default downloads.
  • Download tag base — default download-tag.

Leave a field empty to use the default. The two bases must be different; otherwise neither is changed. Hoster refreshes the rewrite rules on its own after you save.

Info
The base only changes the address of the Download pages. Client sites find updates by the Download's slug through /wp-json/hoster/v1/update/<slug>, so changing a base doesn't affect them.
