Shortcuts
- Cmd/Ctrl + Z — undo
- Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z or Cmd/Ctrl + Y — redo
- Cmd/Ctrl + K — quick search, in the Relationships tab
- ↑ / ↓ / Enter — move and activate, in quick search
- Escape — close any modal; in a search field, clear it first
- Enter — confirm, in the name and add-variable dialogs
Undo and redo are ignored while you are typing in a field, so they never eat an edit in progress.
Undo and redo
The plugin keeps its own history, separate from Figma's, up to 20 steps. A snapshot covers collections, every variable and every mode value, and the settings behind managed shades and steps.
The history is cleared when:
- you press Refresh,
- the plugin starts,
- the file changes outside the plugin — another plugin, another editor, or Figma's own variables panel.
In that last case undo tells you so rather than acting on a stale picture: "Undo history was cleared because the file changed outside the plugin."
The plugin checks for outside changes every few seconds, so a file being edited in Figma's variables panel at the same time will keep clearing the plugin's history. Use one or the other for a given stretch of work.
